This course provide background and training for Volleyball Line Judges. The Line Judge Training Program is part of the Volleyball Australia’s Referee education and development program and represents a component of the Volleyball Australia’s commitment to the education and development of all Volleyball officials in Australia.

Student Referee

The Level 1 Referee course represents an Introduction to Volleyball Officiating, it is designed to train referees in the basic concepts of Volleyball officiating including  roles and responsibilities; applying the basic rules; safety and enjoyment.It is an enjoyable and straightforward training program involving an online learning session, an applied learning quiz and a practical evaluation. The program is directed towards players, parents, teachers and other new referees who are involved in SpikeZone, modified versions of the game, lower club level volleyball or social/ recreational volleyball.The Introduction to Volleyball Officiating Training Program can be accessed as an educational resource for currently accredited individuals, as well as being a training requirement for those wishing to obtain their Foundation Referee qualification.

The Level 2 Referee Accreditation is the second stage of Volleyball Australia's referee education and accreditation program and is part of Volleyball Australia's commitment to the education and development of all Volleyball referees in Australia.

The modules and units have been designed to meet the needs and demands of referees as they have been designed by practicing referees and is conducted through a practical evaluation process only.

Advanced Officiating General Principles

This course sets the standard for all officials from sports involved in the National Officiating Accreditation Scheme (NOAS). This course is a prerequisite for all officials, beach and indoor to be upgraded to National grading.

  • Advanced Principles of Self Management for Officials
  • Advanced Principles of Managing the Competition Environment
  • Advanced Principles of Managing Other People

To successfully complete this course you must:

  • Complete worksheets and submit them for assessment.

The course is designed to develop knowledge and skills of experienced officials – the text Advanced Level Officiating General Principles is used.

The Level 4 Referee Accreditation is part of Volleyball Australia's referee education and accreditation program and Volleyball Australia's commitment to the education and development of all Volleyball referees in Australia.

The modules and units have been designed to meet the needs and demands of referees as they have been designed by practicing referees and is conducted through a practical evaluation process only. The practical evaluation is designed to best equip you for both progression toward FIVB International referee status and Mastery performance within Australian Events.

The application for Master Referee must be done with the support of the VARC as such course enrolnment is not done through this Moodle platform.

SpikezoneThe Foundations of Coaching Volleyball course is the first step of the Volleyball Australia Coach and development pathway.  The course provides basic volleyball fundamentals in a clear and simple format to provide a starting point for beginner coaches.  Once accredited, Coaches will be able to deliver SpikeZone and other Foundation Level programs.

Completion of the Foundation coaching course is a prerequisite for enrolment in all other NCAS accreditation courses.
